How Long Does At-Home IPL Take to Work? A Week-by-Week Timeline
Share
The most common question we get about Lumelyy Smooth is not "does it work" but "when". Here is the honest timeline most customers experience.
Before you start
Shave the area (IPL targets the pigment in the root, so hair above the skin only gets in the way), start on a lower intensity level, and skip sun exposure and self-tanner on the treatment area.
Weeks 1–3: the routine phase
One session per area, once a week. Ten minutes for legs and underarms. You may notice hair growing back a little slower, but the visible change is small; this is the phase where people quit, and the phase that matters most.
Weeks 3–6: first visible results
Regrowth comes in finer and patchier. Many customers shave every ten to fourteen days instead of every few days. Increase the intensity level as your skin gets used to it.
Weeks 8–12: full results
Around week twelve most people see the full effect: large smooth areas with only occasional fine hairs. Switch to maintenance sessions every four to eight weeks.
What affects your speed
Lumelyy Smooth is designed to suit most skin tones and hair colors; results depend largely on the hair itself (thicker, darker hair responds best), individual suitability varies, so always follow the guidance included with your device and check with a licensed professional before your first session, especially with a deeper skin tone, a recent tan or a skin condition. Consistency beats intensity every time.
